A sulfuric acid leak was reported at 7:45 a.m. Saturday while the past five days included a Methyl Chloride leak at the plant. BELLE W.Va. -- Recently, an employee at the DuPont Belle Plant was taken to the hospital due to exposure to a dangerous gas. This incident, along with the recent sulfuric acid leak and methyl chloride leak, is the leading reason that the DuPont Plant is deciding to shut down parts of the plant for two weeks to check for safety issues, according to Metro 911. Imagine the sight of Albert Belle stepping up to the lectern in Cooperstown in 2006 and giving an impassioned speech about his love of baseball. Can't picture it? Neither can I. But that won't stop me from voting for Belle when his name appears on the Hall of Fame ballot next December, his first year of eligibility. The voting guidelines ask that eligible Baseball Writers Association of America voters consider a player's "record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character and contributions to the team(s) on which he played."
